The "Canary Yellow" backgammon is inspired by the minimalist movement. Minimalism is an extreme form of abstract art developed in New York in the 1960s and typified by artworks composed of simple geometric shapes based on the square and the rectangle. Aesthetically, minimalist art offers a highly purified form of beauty. It can also be seen as representing such qualities as truth (because it does not pretend to be anything other than what it is), order, simplicity and harmony. The design and colors of this trilogy of backgammon are created by Joan M.
This backgammon is handmade using the art of marquetry (also spelled as marqueterie) which is the art and craft of applying pieces of veneer to a structure to form decorative patterns and designs.
Our skilful workers use this method in order to create the inside design of the backgammon.
